In China, the color of green represents health and vigor. Then a green
life is one that is healthy and pleasant. Both Beijing and Shanghai have
some green venues for people to enjoy their lives free of pollution and
noise. There are restaurants offering healthy food, hotels with pleasant
lodgings in green surroundings and recreational centers offering cool

Beijing
The Community by the Great Wall
Located at the foot of Badaling Great Wall, one of the most famous scenic
spots in Beijing, the Community by the Great Wall is hidden in a green
forest. It's a hotel consisting of 11 modern villas and a clubhouse, each
designed by one of 12 prominent Asian architects, conveying a sense of
place and integrating seamlessly with the surrounding environment.
Food provided by the community is excellent. It features mainly Chinese
dishes from all over the country, such as Beijing roasted duck, spicy
Sichuan food, Cantonese seafood as well as fresh vegetarian dishes.
Whatever the dish is, community diners can also complement their meal
with well-selected fine wines from all over the world.

How to get there
Bus: Take one of the many tourist buses to Badaling, then take a minibus
or cab to the Shuiguan section of the wall, and keep your eyes peeled for
some contemporary architecture.
Car: Take the Badaling Expressway to the Shuiguan exit. Drive 2km and you
will see the gate to the Commune.
LOHAS Organic and Healthy Food Supermarket
The new hot buzzword, LOHAS (Lifestyle of Healthy and Sustainability)
reflects people's wishes to have a healthy and simple life. Its main
tenet is that people should live closer to nature.
This supermarket focuses on organic and healthy food, all of which don't
have any preservatives, fertilizers or chemical additives. Recommended
food are LOHAS city special pickles, organic hawthorns, freshly made bee
honey and organic muesli.
LOHAS city has a bean curd workshop producing highly nutritional organic
soybean milk and tofu, neither of which have any additives, as well as
the bread provided in LOHAS supermarket's bread house and LOHAS
supermarket's fresh vegetables and fruits transported directly from
farmhouses.
